TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama baseball will take part in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional at Dick Howser Stadium from May 31-June 3. The Tide will be joined by UCF, Stetson and host Florida State to open postseason play.
The Crimson Tide, who is the No. 2 seed, will get Regional play started with the third-seeded Golden Knights at 5 p.m. CT, while the No. 8 nationally seeded Seminoles and No. 4 seed Hatters meet at 11 a.m. on Friday. The first round of NCAA Regionals will begin on Friday, May 31 and run through Monday, June 3. Each Regional is double-elimination with only one team advancing from each Regional site into NCAA Super Regional play.
"You know, credit goes to these kids, man," said head baseball coach Rob Vaughn. "They work their tails off all year. And it's a group that came together kind of for the first time in August - lot of new faces, a lot of new new players. We're excited to get to Tallahassee and compete against the really other really good teams and see what we got."
Alabama will be making its 27th all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament and is playing in back-to-back Regionals for the first time since 2013-14. The Crimson Tide holds a 74-53 (.583) overall record in the NCAA Tournament, including a 60-37 (.619) mark in Regionals. Alabama has claimed eight Regional Championships in program history including titles in 1950, 1983, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2006, 2010 and 2023.
