Remember the "Oldest Rookie," Kelvin Davis? The 62-year-old tried out for the NBA G-league's Birmingham Squadron and recently received a message from the NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver.
"When I first saw it I said wait a minute. Am I seeing right? Is this the commissioner of the NBA, the national basketball association?" Kelvin exclaimed.
His will to try out for the team at the golden age of 62 gained the attention of the commissioner and basketball fans around the country.
Now the tryout is behind him, he's been reflecting on his admirable feat.
"It was a great experience and for me to see I can still go up and down the floor with these guys that I was 40 years older than, I felt very motivated afterward," said Kelvin.
While he hasn't officially heard back from the Squadron, he's still keeping himself in shape, working out with a trainer, and more importantly keeping hope alive.
"I still wait with faith I believe all things are possible, they may ring my phone and I'll be right outside that stadium saying 62-year-old playing for the Squadrons and watch the ticket sales go up!"
Best of luck to Kelvin on his inspirational journey.
