Alabama-Huntsville's Bellah Machen is having a career week. The freshman guard from Morris, Ala. is playing the most minutes of her college career and making the most of that time. She earned starts in her last two games and scored 31 points on 55% shooting from the floor plus 80% from the foul line - good for a 69.8% True Shooting Percentage - all in 61 minutes of action.
Her high marks earned her Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week. The conference awards a Player and Freshman of the Week for each week of the season. This was Machen's first GSC weekly award and just the second for a Charger. Andie Flatgard won Freshman of the Week on December 6.
