War Dawgs look to improve in year three

War Dawgs enter year three aiming to build upon regional championship season.

MADISON, Ala. — It's year three for the North Alabama War Dawgs. Although still new to the ABA, and to the Tennessee Valley, the organization has already begun making some noise.

The War Dawgs were ranked number one nationally for much of last season, finishing the year in the three spot, racking up a Final Eight appearance and a regional championship in the process.

Upon reflection, owner Timothy Jones is proud of how his team fought through all the adversity that came last year.

"We fought through COVID," Jones said. "We had a few injuries late in the season which cost us probably in the playoffs. But, we're bringing the core guys back. James Clemens, they came through for us last year, made it very easy for us in season three, which made the team very successful. Being ranked number one in the nation for most of the season and we finished the season number three in the nation."
