When do the new College Football Playoff rankings come out?

The New Year's Six bowl games will be featured as part of the 12-team playoff, while the others will feature traditional pairings.

HOUSTON — With the college football regular season now complete, fans are looking forward to the next College Football Playoff rankings heading into Conference Championship Weekend.

The committee will unveil the latest rankings at 6 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday on ESPN. Then, on Selection Sunday, the final rankings will be revealed at 11 a.m. Central Time on ESPN.

According to the NCAA, the playoff will include the five highest-ranked conference champions, who will receive automatic bids. The seven highest-ranked teams remaining will round out the field.

The four highest-ranked conference champions will be seeded 1-4 in the bracket and receive a first-round bye. Seeds 5-12 will play each other in the first round, with higher-seeded teams hosting at their stadiums.

New Year’s Six bowl games will host the quarterfinal round. The semifinals will be played in bowls on a rotating basis.

The national championship host site is determined through bids by prospective host sites. This season, it will be held in Atlanta, Georgia.

The first round will be played on Dec. 20-21.

  • Peach Bowl: Jan. 1
  • Rose Bowl: Jan. 1
  • Sugar Bowl: Jan. 1

Here are the semifinal bowl games:

  • Orange Bowl: Jan. 9
  • Cotton Bowl: Jan. 10

The National Championship will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, on Jan. 20.
