HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Each week we tally up the stories visitors to FOX54.com clicked on the most. Get up to speed with this recap.
1. Shine on: All about the eclipse
A great deal of you logged on to watch a live stream of the eclipse from areas along the path of totality. Here in North Alabama the weather wasn't exactly cooperative but visitors to the Space & Rocket Center got a fun and educational time. And, a group from Decatur City Schools traveled to Missouri to see the whole thing up close and personal (with protective eyewear, of course!)
2. Fake eclipse glasses
Amazon is contacting customers who bought eclipse glasses which, it turns out, may not be guaranteed safe. Here's the information our VERIFY team was able to dig up.
ALSO: Your genuine eclipse glasses can still be put to good use. Here's how.
3. Prepare for the next total solar eclipse
You've got some time to get ready. Here's details on the Great American Eclipse of 2045.
4. Verizon settlement
Hey, a story that isn't about the eclipse!
Verizon is issuing settlement payments over an "administration fee" that a class action suit objected to. You could be entitled to up to $100 - but you only have until Monday, April 15 to file a claim.
By the way, that's also Tax Day, if you needed the reminder.
5. Quarry bill dies at state capitol
HB422 would have prohibited blasting within a mile and a half of any historic building or structure in Limestone County. This has been a source of contention with many residents, who have launched letter-writing campaigns, held town hall meetings, and traveled to Montgomery to protest the planned rock quarry.
