HUNTSVILLE, Alabama — The U.S. Space and Rocket Center announced Thursday a $250,000 donation to the USSRC Education Foundation's endowment fund.

The donation comes from the late Keith and Betty Schonrock, who established a charitable remainder trust leaving $250,000 to the USSRC foundation.

Additionally, USSRC announced the establishment of the "Space Camp Explorers Club" fundraising campaign.

The campaign builds on the previous "Save Space Camp" fundraising campaign in which nearly 9,000 donors from all 50 states and across 40 countries raised enough money to prevent the center from closing and allowed for the return of Space Camp in this coming May.

With the launch of the Space Camp Explorers Club, donors will be able to make monthly donations of $10, $25 or $50 to receive access to content and incentives, including behind-the-scenes videos.
