HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — As summer travel peaks, AAA reports a rise in gas prices across Alabama compared to last year. According to AAA's latest data, the national average for regular gasoline stands at $3.51 per gallon, with mid-grade at $3.96 and premium at $4.31.

In North Alabama, drivers are paying an average of $3.18 for regular, $3.59 for mid-grade, and $3.97 for premium fuels. Local averages in cities like Huntsville, Decatur, and Florence-Muscle Shoals show slight changes:

  • Huntsville: Regular $3.21, Mid $3.57, Premium $3.94
  • Decatur: Regular $3.17, Mid $3.54, Premium $3.90
  • Florence-Muscle Shoals: Regular $3.16, Mid $3.55, Premium $3.93
