HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Gas prices are dropping this week, with the national average for regular gasoline now at $3.02 per gallon, according to AAA. Mid-grade fuel has climbed to $3.50, while premium prices have reached $3.85.

In Alabama, drivers are paying an average of $2.71 for regular, $3.13 for mid-grade, and $3.52 for premium fuels. Local averages in cities like Huntsville, Decatur, and Florence-Muscle Shoals show slight changes.

According to AAA, as of December 16, here are the average gas prices in North Alabama:

  • Huntsville: Regular $2.72, Mid $3.10, Premium $3.49
  • Decatur: Regular $2.66, Mid $3.04, Premium $3.47
  • Florence-Muscle Shoals: Regular $2.67, Mid $3.05, Premium $3.44
