HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — As Labor Day arrives, the drop in gas prices across Alabama has slowed. AAA reports that current prices remain lower compared to last year. The national average for regular gasoline stands at $3.33 per gallon, with mid-grade at $3.80 and premium at $4.15.

In Alabama, drivers are paying an average of $2.92 for regular, $3.33 for mid-grade, and $3.72 for premium fuels. Local averages in cities like Huntsville, Decatur, and Florence-Muscle Shoals show slight changes.

According to AAA, as of September 2, here are the average gas prices in North Alabama:

  • Huntsville: Regular $2.98, Mid $3.38, Premium $3.73
  • Decatur: Regular $2.88, Mid $3.29, Premium $3.69
  • Florence-Muscle Shoals: Regular $2.90, Mid $3.31, Premium $3.66
