HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Gas prices continue to remain lower than last year’s averages, according to AAA. The national average for regular gasoline is currently $3.21 per gallon, with mid-grade at $3.68 and premium at $4.04.

In Alabama, drivers are paying an average of $2.78 for regular, $3.19 for mid-grade, and $3.58 for premium fuels. Local averages in cities like Huntsville, Decatur, and Florence-Muscle Shoals show slight changes.

According to AAA, as of September 16, here are the average gas prices in North Alabama:

  • Huntsville: Regular $2.85, Mid $3.25, Premium $3.62
  • Decatur: Regular $2.74, Mid $3.15, Premium $3.55
  • Florence-Muscle Shoals: Regular $2.77, Mid $3.15, Premium $3.55
