Three entryways now open for Trash Pandas game day parking

City leaders, developers, and Trash Pandas officials say three entryways are now open for parking to avoid bottleneck traffic.

MADISON, Ala. — The Trash Pandas home opener game was one for the books!

Fans say they had fun at the game, but were frustrated with all the traffic trying to get into the parking lot.

"We came down the highway, Exit 13 we were coming towards the neighborhood from there and it was backed up three miles," says Madison resident, Jennifer Wolverton.

Bottleneck traffic is what fans experienced last night getting into the stadium.

"Everybody involved with this project understands that can't happen again. There are people that started meeting last night and before the second inning was over were working on a solution and meeting all day," says Breland Companies Spokesman, Joey Ceci.

City of Madison Mayor Paul Finley says there are now more entry ways for people to park.

"We recognize now, with three different ways to get in we're going to have three different entrances instead of just one. That's going to help us a lot getting folks in," says City of Madison Mayor Paul Finley.

It was a team effort with developers, the city, and trash pandas officials.

"We met with the city this morning and what they did have was a barricade at the bottom of the ramp off of 565. We got them to remove that barricade So now that is an open entry point to the parking lot in the back of where there was an entry yesterday," says Trash Pandas VP of Marketing, Promotions, Entertainment, Lindsay Knupp.

"We also opened up an entrance off of Stadium Way. So, you can now enter and come into our gravel parking lot. So that's another entry point," added Knupp.

Initially some parking lots were reserved for VIP season ticketholder, but now it's open for everyone. Knupp says those VIP season ticketholders will have a discount. She says they're working on more police presence to assist traffic.

"Town Madison, the Trash Pandas, the City of Madison - we're all working together. We understand we had to start a process and then make it better. That's what we're committed to do," says Finley.

"We're really excited for the neighborhood to be growing and for the traffic to be getting better than it was last night. I'm sure it's going to," says Wolverton.

Trash Pandas officials says people to prepay for their parking using this app called Clutch. Parking is just six bucks, a discount for what you would pay to park on site.
