TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Fire and rescue workers from several North Alabama stations are in Florida prepared to lend a hand...or a rope...or a boat...as Hurricane Milton heads towards Florida's west boast.

Members of Alabama's Task Force 3, all based in North Alabama, went south to connect with Alabama Task Force One in Tallahasee. Among them are fire and rescue personnel specially trained in water and other technical rescues.

City of Madison Fire & Rescue:
Six firemen from Madison Fire and Rescue are on the Task Force 3 team that joins its efforts with Fort Payne, Decatur, and Guntersville. "I am proud of our Madison Fire and Rescue team for investing in training for such instances. We appreciate that our team can assist other communities in times of need. The people of Florida and other areas that may be affected are already in our prayers," said Mayor Paul Finley.

ALTF-3 is deploying to assist Florida in response to Hurricane Milton. We will be joining AL-TF1 bringing both USAR(Technical Rescue) and Swift-water capable components to where we might be needed. This has been an extremely busy hurricane season with many teams from all across the country coming together to help those in need. We continue to keep our thoughts with those who were affected by #HurricaneHelene and for those that will be impacted by #HurricaneMilton.
