HUNTSVILLE, Ala. —
Kelly Reasner is this week’s Valley’s Top Teacher. She is the assistant principal at Riverton Intermediate School in Huntsville.
“This is my twenty fourth year in Madison County,” Mrs. Reasner said. “I actually grew up in Madison County.”
Before she accepted her new position, Mrs. Reasner was a teacher at Monrovia Elementary. Dr. Headen, the principal at Monrovia Elementary nominated Mrs. Reaser because of her dedication to education. Mrs. Reasner is excited to learn a new role and be apart of the team.
Even though her role has changed, her goal remains the same, to be better than she was yesterday.
“Just to learn something I didn't know, figure out a solution, make a different plan. I’m a firm believer in if plan a doesn't work let's move on to plan b and sometimes you may be on plan e or f by the time you figure it out.”
Brian Givens, the principal of Riverton Intermediate is appreciative of the education expertise that Mrs. Reasner provides.
“But I think too what she brings to the table is twenty three years of teaching experience that I do not have,” Principal Givens said. “Having her expertise has been very beneficial to our school to our students, to our teachers, to our administration.”
