MADISON, Ala. — Congratulations to Alicia Mulloy of Liberty Middle School for being chosen as this week's Valley's Top Teacher. She was nominated by a parent for going above and beyond for her students.
Ms. Mulloy has taught choir at Liberty Middle school for four years, and in that time, she has built strong, and long-lasting relationships with her students. She says that it is very important to her that she learns about her students on a deeper level.
Her students call her Mrs. M&M - and they say she is just as sweet as the candy.
Ava Cooper said, "I love how down-to-earth Ms. M&M is. It really feels like she connects with us in a way that doesn't feel like she's trying too hard to connect with us."
Annabelle Gaganio adds, "She's a great teacher. She's like a friend, but she's also very much a teacher. So, you can kind of connect with her and talk to her if you need to."
Ms. M&M said, "This means a lot. I really do a lot to try and build relationships with the kids. Not only do I try to teach them the skills to be a great singer and a great choir member, but a great human being overall, and I think that's what the kids appreciate about the program is learning how to be a better person."
Thank you Ms. M&M for your dedication to the students of the Tennessee Valley.
