HARVEST, Ala. — Congratulations to Kimberly Kiel for being chosen as this week's Valley's Top Teacher.
Mrs. Kiel teaches biology at Sparkman Ninth Grade School, and she's been an educator for over twenty years.
"Well I have 23 years of experience so that helps," Mrs. Kiel said. "You learn to juggle a few things in education, I love what I do and I learn from the kids."
Her teaching style has made an impact on her students. Not only does she focuses on teaching biology, she teaches life lessons in general.
"Well, I'm going to be honest she's a really understanding teacher," ninth grader Jose Arguedas said. "She helps a lot."
Another student, Dawson Betts explains that Mrs. Kiel's reputation is what made him excited for her class, "Ever since I came to Sparkman I've really been looking forward to coming to her class. I've heard some very high things about her. I really do enjoy her class I enjoy the way she teaches. she's open. she makes the class fun."
Principal McCants says that Mrs. Kiel is the perfect example of a Sparkman Senator.
"She also collaborates with the 10th through 12th teachers at Sparkman High Schools to ensure that students master the essential standards to be able to move on to the next grade level," Principal Mccants said.
