DECATUR, Ala. — Morgan County officials say they're headed in the right direction with the number of COVID-19 cases in the area.
Morgan County is now a low-risk level. However, like Madison County, leaders are warning people to be careful.
The numbers are better, but the county has seen a 7% increase compared to the week prior. Decatur-Morgan Hospital has at least 23 people with COVID-19.
Leaders encourage folks to continue to wear their masks as we approach Labor Day weekend.
"We've got to say if you want to be able to keep doing your parties, you need to wear the mask. Use it or lose it. If you want to keep going to the football games - use it or lose it. If you want to keep your jobs, use or lose it," says Alabama Department of Public Health Northern District Administrator, Judy Smith.
Leaders also have a new treatment, encouraging people to mask, stay apart, sanitize, and be kind (M.A.S.K.).
