MADISON, Ala. — The search for a superintendent for Madison City Schools is coming to an end, with the interviews for finalists being next week.

Meet the final four candidates for superintendent:

Brian Clayton Ed.D. has been the principal of James Clemens High School since 2012. He served as the principal of Liberty Middle School from 2011-2012. Clayton received his Ed.D. from the University of Alabama in 2005. View his resume here.

Dr. Ed Nichols has been the president of ENsprire Consulting since 2018, an associate consultant of ERI Services since 2016, and the director of Principally Speaking Network, The Schools Foundation since 2016. He served as the Superintendent of Decatur City Schools from 2012 to 2016. Nichols received his Ed.D. in 2003 and Ed.S. in 2001 from the University of Alabama. View his resume here.

Mrs. Sylvia Lambert has been the principal of Bob Jones High School, Madison City Schools since 2015. She served as the assistant principal for Bob Jones High School, Madison City Schools from 2014 to 2015. Lambert received her M.A. from Auburn University of Montgomery in 1986.

Dr, Natasha Baker

Dr. Natasha Baker has been the deputy superintendent of Hazelwood Schools since 2017. She served as the state school reform/redesign officer of the Michigan Department of Education from 2013 to 2017. Baker received her Ed.D. from the University of Michigan in 2017.

Dr. Natasha Baker and Dr. Brian Clayton will be interviewed April 7 at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. respectively. Mrs. Sylvia Lambert and Dr. Ed Nichols will be interviewed April 8 at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. respectively.

All meetings of the Board will be streamed live on the Board’s website.
