Local first responders are working together to prepare for terrorist events.
Huntsville Fire & Rescue and the National Guard got together to do hazmat drills. First responders had to identify a dangerous product and figure out how to stay safe when dealing with it.
They say doing this training together allows them to work with different equipment and better understand how each agency operates.
Captain Chris Sutphin with the Huntsville Fire Department said, "Different terms and different trades, communication is always a key factor. They have different equipment than we have. We do stuff a little bit differently than they do."
They do this training once every two years to stay up to date on the drills.
