"I will not seek another term as your representative," Akridge said.

Akridge has served on the council since 2018.
Council President John Meredith during his comments showed his appreciation towards all the work Akridge has done.
"You're going to be missed, councilwoman Akridge," said Meredith. "I look forward to 2022 and working with you to help get some o your priorities enacted before you step down, but it's been fun working with you and I appreciate what you have done and the passion that you have approached your job, so thank you very much."
