HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Huntsville Police Department is investigating an attempted burglary that happened on the 2200 block of Sullivan Road Tuesday evening.
Police say around 9:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of a possible robbery. Upon arrival, they spoke with a juvenile female victim, who said that someone knocked on the door. When she opened it, the suspect attempted to force his way inside.
A physical altercation occurred between the victim and the suspect, during which the suspect pulled a firearm and fired a shot. The victim was not injured, and the bullet did not strike anyone else in the home.
The suspect, described as a juvenile male, fled the scene before officers arrived.
Huntsville Police are investigating the incident as a burglary. Authorities believe the event was isolated, and the victim and suspect are believed to know each other.
