Sad day for family, friends of Ja'Marious Logan

Capital Murder charges have been filed in connection with the 15-year-old's kidnapping and death.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville police shared an update on the missing person case involving  Ja'Marious Logan , who was first reported missing on Sept. 27..

Investigators have filed charges relating to the kidnapping and death of the 15-year-old after remains believed to be Logan's were found on Nov. 16 in Sylacauga, AL.

From Huntsville Police:

Following a lengthy investigation, Huntsville Police Department (HPD) Investigators filed charges related to the kidnapping and death of 15-year-old Ja’Marious Logan after remains believed to be Logan’s were found Thursday, Nov. 16, in Sylacauga, Alabama. An autopsy will confirm the remains are Logan’s and determine the official cause of death.

Logan was reported missing to HPD on Sept. 27 around 6 p.m. During the investigation, it was determined he was last seen in the late hours of Sept. 25. At the time, investigators did not have credible information about Logan’s whereabouts and who was with him.

On Nov. 17, HPD charged Latorrie Gaddis, 33, with capital murder in connection to Logan’s death. The U.S. Marshals Service’s Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force located Gaddis in Alexander City, Alabama. He was already wanted by HPD for two second-degree assault warrants.

Latoya Wells, 37, and Corie Wilson, 33, are charged with kidnapping related to their involvement in Logan’s disappearance. The suspects will be booked into the Madison County Jail.

 Investigators have obtained a hindering prosecution warrant for Lattorrie Gaddis' wife.

34-year-old Deserea Pilar Cunningham was taken into custody by authorities in Sylacauga, Alabama this afternoon and  booked in the Talladega County Jail on the charge. 

She will be extradited to Huntsville and booked into the Madison County Jail on the charge at a later date. 

The Huntsville Police Department would like to thank the U.S. Marshals Service’s Behavioral Analysis Unit, U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Sylacauga Police Department, Talladega County Sheriff’s Office and Coosa County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the case.
