Huntsville woman killed in crash with box truck; second driver hurt

ALEA says a 33-year-old Huntsville woman, Brenda A. Rivera, was killed in a head-on collision with a box truck on Monday evening.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A Huntsville woman has died after a head-on collision with a box truck Monday evening.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), 33-year-old Brenda A. Rivera was killed after her car collided with the box truck.

ALEA says the accident happened around 6:29 p.m. on Old Railroad Bed Road, near Northwest Rock Creek Boulevard.

Rivera was taken to Huntsville Hospital for treatment but passed away while being transported.

The driver of the box truck, 53-year-old Dionne E. Bishop, also suffered injuries and was taken to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.

Troopers from ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the crash.
