LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — The Limestone County Probate Office is addressing ballot jamming issues at several polling locations on Tuesday. Officials say the problems may be caused by high humidity or a larger-than-usual number of voters.
Ballots are becoming "criss-crossed" inside the machines, prompting technicians to randomly open the machines and straighten them.
If voters are unable to wait for the machines to be fixed, they are instructed to place their ballots in an emergency bin. These ballots will be counted later in the evening.
Election officials are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible to ensure all votes are counted.
