Madison County District Attorney fills chief deputy DA, chief trial attorney positions

Former Huntsville police officer Tim Gann will serve as the chief deputy district attorney and Tim Douthit will serve as the chief trial attorney.

MADISON COUNTY, ALABAMA, Ala. — Madison County District Attorney Rob Broussard announced on Wednesday, July 7, who will fill the rolls of Chief Deputy District Attorney and Chief Trial Attorney.

Former Huntsville police officer Tim Gann will serve as the Chief Deputy District Attorney  and Tim Douthit will serve as the Chief Trial Attorney .

After serving as an officer for 15 years, Gann earned his law degree and was hired on by the DA's Office where he has worked for the past 15 years. The DA's Office said Gann has handled a major crime case load focusing on murder and capital murder cases. Gann was the previous chief trial attorney.

Douhit has more than ten years of prosecution experience, serving five years at the Mobile County District Attorney's Office and spent the past five years at the Madison County District Attorney's Office. The DA's Office said Douhit has handled a case load of violent crime, ranging from sexual abuse to capital murder.

"Both men have demonstrated a dedication to this office in the pursuit of justice for the citizens of this county and both happen to be really good, honorable men," DA Rob Broussard said.

According to the DA's Office, the two promotions go into effect immediately.
