MidCity District & The Camp celebrate July 4th

Event goers share what they're most excited about while attending MidCity District events.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — July 4th festivities have been happening all weekend long in several locations in Huntsville.

At, "The Camp" in the MidCity district, they've hosted live music, yoga, fireworks, a watermelon carving contest and their weekly market Sunday.

Wymillian and Gerald Cobb both attended The Camp's market event during the holiday weekend and this was there very first time.

It was recommended to them by a friend who knew they love food, and they sure do.

"Man they have some of everything that we need...the fruit, the vegetables and ya know some good music and stuff going on...Even some sweet potato pie...plant based, vegan, sweet potato pie," Gerald Cobb said.

Wymillian Cobb chimed in to share her enthusiasm.

"It's just a beautiful day even though it's hot, the sun is shining, it's a gorgeous day here in North Alabama so it's really exciting being here," Wymillian Cobb said.

The Cobbs' truly enjoyed the food as they shared their love for vegan and plant based treats.

These treats came from Henry's Family farm. And the good thing is, the market at MidCity happens every Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. not just for July 4th.

The Camp also held a watermelon carving contest for July 4th where people weigh in vote for the winner on MidCity's Facebook page. The voting ends on July 5th, 2022.
