MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. — The Morgan County Sheriff's Office is helping their local schools get supplies they need.
The "Stuff the Bus" event will be held on Saturday, August 8th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Dollar General in Priceville at 15 Robinson Street.
You can donate new backpacks, tennis shoes, school supplies, and more.
They are also accepting monetary donations.
The sheriff's office is partnering with the Morgan County Schools Foundation to collect items for the Stuff the Bus drive.
They're taking up donations of basic school supplies like pencils, glue, and paper, as well as cleaning supplies for the classroom. Due to the pandemic, teachers will be going through more hand sanitizer and sanitation wipes this school year.
Morgan County Sheriff's Office PIO Mike Swafford said, "It is a premium to be able to get Clorox wipes, Lysol wipes, those types of things, so any time we get those, it's definitely a big high five to that donor."
Donations can also be dropped off at the sheriff's office or their patrol substation in Somerville.
