MADISON COUNTY, ALABAMA, Ala. — Two men were arrested on December 11 in a narcotics investigation in North Alabama that resulted in a large seizure of drugs, the Huntsville Police Department said.
HPD said agents recovered 2.7 pounds of cocaine, 283 grams of methamphetamine, more than $23,000 in currency and a handgun. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately $150,000, according to HPD.
Victor Gonzalez of San Antonio, Texas, was charged with trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine and is being held in the Madison County Jail on a $300,000 bond. Thomas Nance of Huntsville was charged with conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime and is being held on a bond of $20,000.
HPD said the drugs were transported from Texas and were intended to be distributed into the community.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and more seizures and arrests are possible. The investigation was conducted by the North Alabama High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Task Force.
