HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Not all children can be home for the holidays and Children's of Alabama is making a way where you can help make their Halloween special this year. Through Oct. 30, you can send free greeting cards to children in the hospital by visiting their website and selecting one of three card designs. Hospital staff will print and distribute the cards to patients on Tuesday, Oct. 31.
Protective Life Corporation has sponsored the Halloween activities at Children’s for the past nine years. The card drive gives people a chance to bring smiles to child's face during a time when hospital visitation is limited. Children’s says they can not accept in-person gift donations, food, candy, stuffed animals, toys that depict violence, religious items, crocheted knit items, or homemade items to any of the patients. For more information about donating to patients, visit here.
