HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Local leaders of the community gathered at 3911 Pulaski Pike for the dedication of the future home of the Boys & Girls Clubs North Alabama (BGCNAL)-North Huntsville Campus and to announce the beginning of the construction and renovation phase for other major projects across the region.
Joe Newberry (President and CEO of Redstone Federal Credit Union), Patrick Wynn (CEO of BGCNAL), Philip Slusher (Senior Associate Pastor Whitesburg Baptist Church), State Representative Anthony Daniels and others where present to discuss the importance of investing in our youth in and in our communities.
“With the growth of Huntsville, this is an incredible opportunity for us as Boys and Girls club to provide transformational services for the 4500 school age kids that are in North Huntsville," stated Patrick Wynn.
The campaign is called "Doors to the Future" and its goal is to not only renovate clubs but add tools students can use like career development center, new transportation and scholarship opportunities. “Support for the Doors To The Future Capital Campaign from organizations like Redstone Federal Credit Union, Whitesburg Baptist, and many others is enabling us to expand our reach with new Centers for Advancement at local clubs, upgrades in transportation, increased scholarship opportunities, and a new campus in North Huntsville," Wynn stated. "They are helping us reach even more kids and empowering them with the opportunities needed to pursue their potential.”
The Boys and Girls club are currently accepting donations to further implement their campaign.
