Volunteers say getting a haircut for many of these people adds a bit of normalcy into their lives.

Local groups are making sure people in Huntsville feel confident with new hair styles.

BeArded WARRIORs and the Huntsville Downtown Rescue Mission put on the Styles with Smiles event today. Volunteers came out to give free haircuts to residents of the rescue mission.

BeArded WARRIORs President, Ty Oswald, says getting a haircut for many of these people adds a bit of normalcy into their lives.

"It turns into just a fun, normal day at a barber shop kind of thing. We're just trying to give that experience to people who may not be afforded that all the time," said Oswald.

They put on these Styles with Smiles events twice a month. The next one is on March 24th.

They always need more volunteers. To sign up to help, click here.
