It's time to get your glow on!
Huntsville Parks and Recreation's annual "Light Up the Night" event was rescheduled to Friday, August 16, in Big Spring Park.
This free, popular event features live music, dancing, games, and enchanting lighting throughout the park. Attendees can also get their face painted with glow-in-the-dark face paint.
And the excitement ramps up at 7 p.m., as glow foam cannons will shower attendees of all ages in an unforgettable experience. The first 100 children will receive special light-up party favors.
"We're thrilled to bring back Light Up the Night for our community this year," shares Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett. "It’s the perfect way to close out another successful Parks and Recreation Month and say ‘thank you’ to all those who have attended this year’s events.”
Concessions will be available for purchase from food trucks located along Church Street and around Big Spring Park West.
This event is one of the many events Huntsville Parks and Recreations puts on in celebration of "Parks and Recreation Month" in July, offering residents several opportunities to #GoPlayHSV.
Huntsville Parks & Recreation is also teaming up with the Huntsville Police Department and Free 2 Teach to throw the ultimate Back to School Bash. It's Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jaycee Community Building. Students ages 18 and under are invited to dunk a principal, cool off on an inflatable waterslide, enjoy the petting zoo, win prizes and dance to the sounds of DJ Lashay B. HEALS, Inc. will also provide free sports physicals.
