UAB doctor reminds us that we are not clear yet

We have seen a rise in cases as testing becomes more available, but the doctor is worried that we have not seen a drop yet.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Doctor Marrazzo says that over the past week we have had an average of 300 new cases a day in Alabama.

It was at about 200 a day just a couple weeks ago.

She does think testing is contributing to it, but she is concerned that we are not seeing a decline in cases.

"We are still facing taking care of very sick people in the hospital, we have about 70 people at UAB who are infected right now, and a number of those people are on ventilators. So I think that it is really premature to declare victory, to say the least."
